Princess of Delhi-6

5 March 2009 10,044 Views 6 Comments

Just a couple of days back I saw the movie Delhi 6. Actually I went to see Dev D but tickets were not available so I saw Delhi 6. Everything happens for some good result at the end. I saw Aditi Rao Hydari in the movie. She is totally stunning beauty. A perfect combination of beauty, simplicity and innocence. You might don’t know who Aditi Rao is but one thing I am damn sure that you can perfectly guess about whom I am talking about. Yes….The actress who played Rama bua – Bittu’s unwed aunt – without any make-up and sported a cotton sari throughout the movie.

Aditi Rao Hydari is not a familiar name. In fact, most of us saw her for the first time in Delhi-6. Aditi is a commerce graduate from Lady Sriram College and has completed her schooling from Rishi Valley, a school near Bangalore that imbibes the teachings of philosopher J Krishnamurthy. The young actress is married to a former bureaucrat-turned-lawyer-turned-aspiring actor Satyadeep. Having migrated from Delhi the two spend their days auditioning for roles. They stay in a cozy apartment in Versova. Rakesh Omprakash Mehra spotted her when he watched her in Sringaram, a National Award-winning Tamil film. Rakesh Omprakash Mehra asked her for audition for three roles – that of the moneylender’s (Prem Chopra) wife, Bittu (eventually Sonam Kapoor played the role) and Rama the unwed aunt.

Her parents have been separated. Her mother runs a fairly prominent publication house called Orient Blackswan. And one thing FYI is the fact that the company is run by an erstwhile royal family. Raja J Rameshwar Rao was her maternal grandfather and Sir Akbar Hydari was her grandfather from her dad’s side. Anyone who knows a little about Andhra Pradesh will tell you that these names are not to be taken lightly. Akbar Hydari was responsible for the establishment of the Osmania University and Rameshwar Rao was part of one of the prominent princely families around Hyderabad. Her mother is a Singer and she is playing Aishwarya Rai’s mother in Ravana.

Thanks for the information about ‘Rama Bua’.She was made to look so ordinary but, to me, she looked like a princess in disguise which surprisingly is true, considering that one of her grandfathers was a Nizam.

Thanks again, love the movie, love ‘Rama Bua’ and hope to see her again.

Well it was nice reading your blog. i do not know who you are but i appreciate your thoughts. Specially the one you wrote about which Godse killed Gandhi. India would have been a stronger, more prosperous and enlightened country had Nehru not governed for long. The unstinted support of Gandhi helped Nehru’s rise in the political firmament. Gandhi sponsored nehru for the presidential post of national congress in 1920 despite the national congress having the three leaders of towering national stature-Patel,Subhash Bose and Jinnah.Even during the presidential elections of the national congress in 1946 it was gandhi who asked patel to withdraw from the race to run uncontested.. This paved the way for nehru to become the PM ofIndia. Well gandhi deserved a more gruesome death..the death that was a visual horror during the partition of india.
