I Lost to Life

There are many such restrictions that are continuously transforming me from a human to machine. Many of us are in this same situation and feel the same. Some will disagree for sure. They might be lucky enough to be in first category or they are very much used to be like this only. People do adjust themselves according to the circumstances but somewhere in the mind they do realize that they have lost to life. Life is asking them to do something different. Something that we love to do, something we are passionate about but we are continuously doing something else in repetitive manner just like a machine.

Patriotism???

As per Wikipedia, Patriotism is defined as love and devotion to one’s country. A very simple and straight forward definition, yet very true. Can we measure Patriotism??? Several surveys have tried to do this for various reasons. The Patriotism Score table below is from the World Values Survey and refers to the average answer from high income residents of a country (I don’t understand the reason behind conducting surveys only to this population) to the question: “Are you proud to be [nationality]?”….

Why doesn’t it rain on the SUN?

“I lied to you….”, I think I should tell her, at least now, why we are going to Korukonda village in Andhra. The bus stopped, as few more passengers are getting in.

“Please don’t scare me Kiran. Tell me clearly”

I waited for the bus to start and then..

“I never thought an unanswered question can disturb a person so much. Is it because a girl asked me that question or is it because she…”

Riding on Satyam Track

No one else can understand the exact feeling of a Satyam employee at this point of time. Especially the feeling of an employee, who has started his/her career just one year back or so with Satyam as first company. What’s going next to Satyam? Will there be any layoffs after acquisition? Will i survive? What if i will lose my job? Where is my fault if Company’s CEO has done any scam? Many such questions must be going through his/her mind all the time. Whom to believe? Satyam or Media?……

Pondicherry is ON -:)

For the 28-29th March weekend, I suggested my roommates to have a ride all the way to Pondicherry and take a sip of Jack Denials. My proposal went accepted with no dispute. I along with Harsh, Uttkarsh and Kedar left our home at sharp 9 o’clock in the morning and headed towards Pondicherry for the best holy drink. I guess weather was also as much excited as we. It was not a trademark Chennai weather, burning like an oven. We were riding on East Coast Road (ECR)……

Mangalore incident, Ban on Pubs

About 40 activists of a self-styled pro-Hindu moral brigade called Sri Rama Sena forcibly barged into a pub in the coastal city of Mangalore at around 4pm on 24th December claiming unethical activities were on inside and bashed up a few young girls for “violating traditional Indian norms”. In a TV grab I can see many women falling to the ground, atleast two girls were punched and their hair pulled by the activists at the pub Amnesia – The Lounge in Mangalore, about 350 km from Bangalore……

I Wrote Something — I Swear

Today is Saturday. No office. Last five days I spent in office with a very high level of frustration with absolutely no work, staring monitor for all day and expecting a mail with some work. Finally weekend is here and now I don’t need to wait for mail. I can enjoy and sleep at home. Today I woke up at 12 PM because last night I went to bed at 4 AM. I made double egg omelette as breakfast cum lunch at around 1 PM. Watched TV for a couple of hours. Checked my mails and orkut scrapbook…..

A (Black) Light at the End of the Tunnel

I don’t know I should regret my decision to go for Satyam, the last company came for recruitment in my college or feel myself lucky to witness the fall of India’s fourth largest IT Company and its recovery after that. At present I don’t know what is going to happen with me and 50,000 employees like me. It was very truly said by Mr Ramalinga Raju that we are riding on a Tiger without knowing how to get off from it without being eaten. I know everyone is doing his best to save this company. Even govt. is taking all possible steps…..

Those awesome days passed away

July 2002, the day i entered the gate (or better call it something separating the road from institute campus) of IIITM, Gwalior to experience a new taste of life….called hostel life. ohh…previous night incident was so funny. At Gwalior railway station i asked an auto, “Hey! take me to IIITM”…..he replied, “which college? ITM? IITM? IITTM?”…he asked for every combination of I, T and M but no IIITM-:D. Anyhow i managed to find the treasure. It was a small building inside MITS campus. An apex institute of IT and management…..
